Got to the Skok around 8:30AM, we landed our first fish around noon. Me, my wife, and my daughter crossed the river on Purdy Cutoff Rd, careful not to touch tribal land, they've been enforcing it quite a bit lately. Found the hole where the fish were yesterday. Fished the drift right before the closed waters and hooked into about 5 fish within the first half hour. But they kept getting off. Total, lost about 11 fish yesterday, figured it's time for new leader line, the stuff I have is 5 years old. Right before we decided to go buy more, caught a nice ten pound bright king. We caught him right in the mouth while the people up above on the rocks were trying to snag them. They were catching in the tail and keeping them. It's surprising how much easier the fish are to land when they're caught properly. So we left for a lunch break, and to get more line. People must have decided to try that spot when we left, because when we got back, there was tons of line that I kept getting caught on. Lost about 7 of my pre-tied leaders within ten minutes on those snags. However, still managed to hook into 5 more fish there, but they came right off. All in all it was a good day. We had fun, my daughter was able to swim right there, so she had fun too.
