Went out today for a few hours with my dad. Fished at the Library area of the cedar. I found two nice deep holes that I fished and every cast I landed trout 10"-14" average. Until I landed this gal! She hit like a little fish and when I set the hook she was peeling drag!! Biggest one of today. She was 22" in length and was FAT. I was getting bit every cast and would land fish every cast as well. Remember Cedar River is a C&R river and you have to use barbless hooks. A lot of swimmers and inner tubers, but I still managed fish. Tight lines

You know I could be wrong but when I looked at the fish & wildlife rules for fishing Cedar River, They Said ( Strict catch-and-release regulations are enforced for all trout and salmon ) but I could be wrong or they changed the ruling.

In a catch & release river you should never bring the fish out of water unless you are using a soft net, so you don't have to handle the fish.

That fish wasn't 14". Doesn't matter anyway now. The fish is dead I'm sure. I could tell just by the type of pole that was used that there was a worm hanging from it as well! LOL!
