Went up river after work to my usual spot. Floated jigs with no luck. So I switched over to my drift rod and started tossing yarnies, a couple casts in and I caught a really pretty little cutthroat. A couple casts later I see a steelhead jump with a yarnies hanging out of its mouth. Yeah it was mine, I totally snoozed on the bite and he was off before I could do anything more than watch slack jawed as he spit it out. I continued on for about another hour with no more action so I decided to head down to the hacthery hole since I haven't been there in about a year. I immediately remembered why I don't fish there. Garbage everywhere, and people who are not very considerate about casting etiquette. That place is the antithesis of everything I love about fishing. And can't help but get angry about wdfw policy that has turned Skykomish steelhead fishing into the total *@#$ show it has become. Well maybe ill head up there again in august when the crowds clear out a little
