I spent two days doing some of the best fly fishing I had ever done. I was wading all day for two days, casting dry flies to aggressive beautiful cutthroat trout.some big fish were pulled out of the deeper pools. Nothing over 15 inches all fish were released safely. Its a tough creek to wade, in some spots I was up to my neck in water and even had to swim. I didn't bring a camera because I knew I would be getting wet.

How did you get back up stream? That is some kind of adventurous fishing techniques being deployed. Freaking awesome!

I was wading upstream, it was treacherous wading but a lot of fun

Which dry flies were successful for this type of fishing? What size of fly? Was a Royal Coachmen on the list?

No I didn't use any coachman's, I used an elk hair caddis and a parachute adams. The EHC was a size 12 and the adams was a size 14. You just have to go out in the early in the morning or wait until dusk and you should find rising fish, just cast to any likely hole if they aren't rising. It's important to be quiet and play the fish carefully so you don't spook the rest. They will smash just about any dry fly as long as they aren't spooked. Remember to use barb-less hooks and release these beautiful fish.
