Started the day bright, well not so bright, and early and headed to the Wallace mouth on the sky. No cars parked at the parking lot so a little promising to find a good spot. Worked a few holes, floating jigs tipped with saucy prawns, but no steelies in sight. Decided to head over to reiter ponds and try our luck there. Upon arrival, saw a few people leaving with fish, looked promising and headed down to the river. It was around 11 then. We found a nice spot to the left of the hatchery. We worked our jigs for a bit and within fifteen minutes, my friend Brian had a fish on! A nice 27", 6 lbs hen. Soaked to the bone, we headed back home after a while. The bite seemed to die off for everyone and the rain and wind were battling hard. Great day all and all. Had a fun time and its always nice when the crowds are civil! Tight lines!
