Hit High Bridge today with my friend Jim; he was swinging flies and I stuck with gear. Nothing there, saw Sean though! Headed up higher on the river; worked drift gear and was STOKED when I hooked up!

It was a white fish... Hahaha. Spooned, drifted and floated... Nothing

Got SUPER bored so I started working the float down river and second cast, BOOM! I've never seen my float go under so violently. Sean showed up across the river (he catches 10 nates before he lands 1 hatchery) yells "NATIVE!"

After middle finger usage and 7 minutes of an enjoyable battle on the 13' St Croix IPC, up goes the adipose fin :/

Jim hooked up on the Double Hand and had a killer Steelie on for a minute, but it busted his tippet.

Fun day! Relaxing Saturday :)

Tight Lines!

Great story, good to hear of the success, I have been covering more water float fishing and having more success than with the hardware...so far...and avoiding the high traffic areas...

the one on the left looks like a misclip look at the dorsal fin all bent and cut like a hatchery.

I was going to say the same thing as Bonker, looks like a misclip hatchery fish to me. An intact adipose looks like a dumbo ear when it's complete! Nice fish though, I love the jaws on him.

I thought something looked different since this buck looked all beat up and a little different...
Well, I guess this Buck got lucky and might live to see the salt again :)

Thank you guys for the identification help.
