We made another trip down to the skookumchuck to have some fun with some coho before we had to go back to seattle. Made it down there about 1pm and started out drifting eggs below the hatchery. About 5 guys fishing with no fish pulled out, it only took a few casts before I got a nice blushed coho. Then walked down to meet my husband, he just released a firetruck, he was using the thill center slider bobber with eggs.. I kept walking on down to the corner to fish. Unfortunately right after i left him he hooked into a gorgeous steelhead hen that was sitting in the same spot as the coho. She was prepared to be in the river a long time, her eggs were immature like a summer steelhead. Caught some more coho before we decided to leave. Skookumchuck has been good to us.

alright thanks yeah in like 3 minutes as I was starting to leave I saw 6 roll in that back pond and in the main current so I know it holds fish but I do not know how to fish it other than the tail out shown in your picture. They were rolling in the pools below the hatchery too but I again do not know how to fish that area, I heard twitching jigs are good but no luck. Thanks again, I can tell you guys are going to need more punch cards come march for steelhead haha, keep slaying.

ha, i know both the spots you speak of. you can fish that back pond. my buddies do it. beat up the coho and the steelhead. all you gotta do is find your way over there....i like the slow hole myself. got a couple other spots that are awesome for backing plugs down into the seam around corners. I'll see you guys out there. good luck and nice steel!!!
