Got to the river about an hour after the tide change, so the water was going out at a pretty good rate. Fished for about an hour through rain, pouring rain and hail without a hit, though there was still quite a bit activity with fish jumping and rolling. I was surprised to see how much fish activity there was after reading all the other reports lately. Just after the hail stopped, I hooked into turned out to be a nice male coho which I managed to land. He was starting to turn (hook nose, sides turning rosy) but was still a good fish. My first salmon landed after a couple of years of trying!
