I WONDERED WHY THERE WERE ONLY 25 BOATS AT KITSAP LAKE ON OPENING DAY.
NOW I KNOW WHY ! FISHING WAS HORRIBLE. IN SPITE OF THE FACT THAT THE
D.F.W. RELEASED SOME 1275 SUPPOSED "TRIPLOIDS" FROM 2-10 POUNDS, WE HAD
NOTHING BUT BAD LUCK. WE USED ROOSTER TAILS, TRIPLE TEAZERS, DICK NITES,
JIGS, RAPALAS, WEDDING RINGS, YOU NAME IT....WE USED IT. AFTER GETTING TIRED
OF TROLLING, WE PLUNKED WITH POWER BAIT, AND EVEN FLY-FISHED A WHILE. MY
WIFE MANAGED TO GET 2 TO RISE ON A ROYAL COACHMAN # 12, AND HOOKED INTO 1
SMALL 'BOW WITH A STIMULATOR # 10. MY SON CAUGHT 1 NICE ONE AROUND 18" ON
YELLOW POWER BAIT. I HAD 2 BITES ON A FLATFISH, BUT NO DICE. WE STAYED FROM
6:15 A.M. TO 5:00 P.M, AND ONLY STOPPED FOR 20 MINUTES FOR LUNCH AND POTTY
BREAK. SAVE YOUR TIME, AND GO TO SPENCER. MY BUDDY SAID HE WAS HOME WITH
A STRINGER OF FISH NO SMALLER THAN 16", AND THEY FOUGHT LIKE "THEY WERE SHOT
OUT OF A CANNON". I CALLED B.S., THEN HE SHOWED ME THE FISH........OOPS !
