Fished beautiful Langlois tonight from about 7:15 - 8:45. Trolled a green/orange F4 Flatfish with a bit of worm. Had several hits- 4 hookups and landed one nice 10" planted rainbow. Serval boats and tubers were using fly gear. One boat claimed to have had 28 fish on in that time. I saw a lot of fish jumping and a lot of fish being played.

The algae blooms are starting already, so the lake may go out of shape a lot earlier than usual. The logs across the boat access are still there. Keep to the left going out and be ready to lift your trolling motor and hoist the boat over the logs.

We got most of the hits along the north shore by the Girl Scout Camp. (When trolling on summer mornings, watch out for the Girl Scouts swimming across the lake. They put up a good fight when hooked, but it is illegal to keep them.) Others were in the middle of the lake. The fish are still shallow. Several of us limited last Saturday on opening day trolling flasher set ups just under the surface.

The resident bald eagle is back. I heard a swoosh of air in front of my boat, turned around and saw the eagle grab a trout about 15 feet in front of the boat.

This is a great lake to bring kids. If they don't catch any trout, try sight fishing for perch in the fallen trees on the north side. Dangle a worm in the submerged trees and you can watch the perch or small mouth attack. On Friday and Satruday evenings you can get serenaded by the Scouts at their campfire.
