So my buddy came up from Longview and we were going to make the run up to Edmonds in the morning to give the salt one more shot but read a report where the Duwamish was kicking out some silvers so decided to launch at 1st avenue to troll for some silvers.
Launched at 7am and the natives were already loading up their boats and launching to set out the gauntlet of nets again so made a dash up river to beat them to it. Pretty slow but found one section before the power lines where there were some jumpers. Trolled a dick nite green/brass with a cool looking dodger that was brass with a blue center just under the surface with no weight. Had 2 really hard takes but by the time we got it out of the rod holder both were off. By 9:30 the whole fleet of natives were flying up the river past us one boat after another so we decided to head out and go up to Edmonds and give area 9 a try. By the time we got to the sling a stiff breeze was blowing out of the north and didn't look very promising so headed home for a break and finished the day on American lake and managed only 1 perch!

Oh well, had a great visit with my buddy and enjoyed our late summer like weather again! looks like it's back to river fishing for me now!

There were some guys catching them on the red tiger wee wigglers. No scent and trolling down from the 112th bridge. Seemed the fish were huggin the bank a bit more and the jumpers were few and far between.

thanks, yea we were heading that way but ran into some jumpers so stayed close to the boat launch plus my main motor wouldn't start so just started trolling~ we started with the fire tiger but got both hits on the dick nite so switched to that. Maybe some more will come in with this rain!

That's what I am hoping for. I read on another post from a guy who has a buddy... you know how that story goes, but he's a biologist and does fish studies and he said that the fish are out in the sound and their marker to know when it's time to come in is the rain. Friday and Saturday are the first dose of rain so I'm hitting it up Sunday rain or shine bright and early. Gonna have to pick up another fire tiger being that I found a serious snag in the middle under the 112th. I would like to think it was a huge king BUT... it's doubtful. Sunday was an expensive day losing 2 spoons, 1 fire tiger, 1 wee wiggler, 2 spinners, and the mental anguish that goes along with not catching fish. I woulda called it even if I would have caught just one.

Yea, I have donated my share of hardware to this river but am finally learning the drifts and snags so that i have been pretty fortunate lately.. the tides are better the end of this week and into the weekend plus the nets will be coming out Friday so try and get out there if you can. I will be up in Snohomish for a meeting for work so will give that river a try Friday and Saturday but may hit the Duwamish Sunday from the bank so may see you down there at 112th if you fish it.
