Fished the river yesterday. Water was way down, only boat on the water, which was nice. Except for the game department shocker boat said they where doing a milfoil study?. Caught ten smallies largest @3 lb and six largies largest@6 lb all on swim baits main river sand bars. No pike where even seen?

Interesting report. Do you mind telling us what stretch of the river you launched out of?

I wonder how the Milfoil shocked up????? Things like this make me my doubts about the honesty of the Department a little more main stream. LOL

Now that Conner and his band of killers have wiped out the pike and a big portion of the sizeable bass in the river, I wonder if he will switch his area of expertise to Millfoil. In 2 or 3 years of waging war against the pike he got himself to where they were referring to him as an expert on pike. Maybe in a couple of years he will be a millfoil expert and he can figure out a way to get the BPA to hand over a few million dollars to fight the millfoil. Maybe he can figure out a way to brush the dust off of his gill nets and use them to dredge up that millfoil.

"Expert" Lol. I got a laugh when they said that at the meeting. I'm sure his phones just blowing up from the boys over in Wisconsin and Minnesota desperate for an "Experts" advice on their Pike population. That's laughable.

I personally say that they are just coming up with more political rhetoric to make it seem legit what the WDFW is really doing. Go figure that they always have another political statement as to why they are doing more damage to the River. Here is what I don't understand and am completely lost on, what does the WDFW and Jason Conner think is going to happen once the Pike are supposively eradicated? Other than the millions of dollars involved what is the real purpose of trying to revamp a river that has already been scientifically proven to be a Warm Water Fishery? Amazing how even Fishing and the Outdoors is full of bearicratic political BS and that money is able to destroy the very foundation of how these dept survive! Especially considering that angling and hunting license are the bread and butter of these depts surviving! So what would happen if the Government decided that Fisheries and Wildlife management wasn't a priority and cut the entire dept? I have a guess, this whole political money laundering idea to Destroy the Pike would go out the window because it honestly wouldn't be that important!!! Im going to call a Spade a spade right now and say this is strictly about JOB SECURITY and trying to legitimize why the dept of Fish and Wildlife should stay intact! It's a feather in the hat and a way for the entire dept to say Look at what we are doing, we are making sure to protect a fishery and keep the environment safe from the Most Enjoyable Invasive Species in North America! Oh wait the Pend Oreille flows thru Canada, that means the Pine downriver are still spawning and safe! And I thought for a second that there were no more Pike in the Pend Oreille! Funny how Canada isnt having any problems on the Pend Oreille with Pike, as a matter of fact they are doing GREAT from what I have read and heard from fellow Pike anglers! Well I will just keep fishing in Idaho and Canada where the Pike are a Staple and enjoyed by many! So for those who love Ghe Great Northern Pike, keep up the great catching of The Most Enoyable Invasive Species in North America!

Not surprising on the game dept, and Pike are a blast. Pend Oreille river always has seemed more cut out for warm water fish, even 50 years ago. Zap! there goes another milfoil plant...
