Fished the Duwamish yesterday with bodofis. 1st time in a few years hitting the Duwi and 1st salmon fishing excursion on my boat. it worked out well. just wish the fishing was hotter but i'm not complaining. there is a TON of fish in the river, they were practically jumping in the boat at times.. roling, splashing and taunting everyone all day.

We worked hard most the day, we foul hooked one good size Coho 10lbs using a brads wiggler plug and let him go at the boat. Later on I hooked a good size king on a dick nite around the 112th st bridge, he got let go right next to the boat and then bodofish finally managed to pull in smaller Coho towards the end of our day on our way out, pulling plugs..

It was a beautiful day, the guntlet of boats was kind of fun learning how to pull plugs and manuever through them all, some more courtious than others.

at 5am on a saturday morning its only 10 min to the launch from my house in north seattle.. i can dig that!

got A few action shots..

pics:
1. Bodofish landing a coho
2. Oneshot battling a king, net is out becasue we hadn't seen the fish yet, he was never netted.
3. 0-dark-30 sunrise

Oneshot, where do you launch? I bank fish the lower river when it opens, but have never boat fish the lower river for coho. I have a 16ft. Alumiweld Stryker......I can't seem to find any maps showing the ramps. Thank you. Ark

Not the best parking at 1st, but big ramp. Try avoid leaving on low tide, the ramp is steep and slimey.

OneShoot, we saw you guys running around, I was with my buddies sled and Gringo P.

Nice to meet you too, even if it was just a handshake and gone.. we were able to go 2 for 4 on plugs with 4 lines in the water until about 11am.

oneshot- nice pics. Looks like a group of people are on the Duw so I can relax and wait for the coho catching reports to pick up and then make a couple quickie trips from shore :-) Think my first Duw coho last year was 2nd week Sept when fishing for pinks so hopefully they're soon to show in better #s.

knotabassturd - the river was loaded from the power lines down to the old bridge (forget which one) that has construction.. bright coho jumping and splashing every where.. its a matter of timing it when the bite is ON.
