Hit the Sammamish in Redmond again today after work between 85th and the old train tressel. There was a solid showing of rising fish so i got afer them pretty quick like. one fish in particular was of good size and was making quite ruckus in front of me. I must've switched up flies 10x and still could not entice a strike, not even from the smaller squawfish i was seeing around there either.. nice to throw the flies around for a couple hours after work, so i'm not complaining. and.. i'm not gonna lie, this fly thing is starting to catch on for me. i'm enjoying the hunt for rising fish and eagerly awaiting the strike.. if i can pull off getting up early before work i am going to try and get that pesky taunting fish to slurp down my fly..

picture is a video screencapture of that pesky taunting fish, i knew i got several of his acrobatics while the vid was running.. maybe, just maybe i'll get him tomorrow..

yeah the dry fly on the slow moving water is addictive, i just haven't found the time to get back out to the river... it closes here pretty soon doesn't it?

Dryflies are neat but, its all about the swung fly. The tug is the drug.

He looks worth going after. I know it is hard but, you may want to try approaching this fish from downstream. I think he can see you as he looks up to feed. Fish rarely look behind them selves. As clear as the water is with no rain you should at least be crouched down when fishing that close to the fish. Just my 2 cents worth. Good luck!

afk, good tips thanks.. i did try some from below him and some from up a bit higher just drifting further down into his hide out.. i was thinking the same thing, you just helped confirm my theory..

river closes today.. i couldn't get up early enough, up way to late.. lunch time might have to happen!
