Got a great surprise by catching 3 walleye that measured 21 inches. Didnt even know that walleye were in the river. Was using bottom walkers with chartreuse spinners and nightcrawlers. Also caught over 20 smallmouth bass with the biggest being 4lbs. Sorry no pictures. To excited to finally catch some big fish that I forgot to take them. Great day and found a place to catch walleye that is closer to home.

Nice going. It's good to hear of some walleye close to home. Hopefully they will be allowed to live and prosper. Unfortunately someone is likely to see them as another cash cow, like they did with the northern pike ,say they will eat bull trout or west slope cutthroats and the gill netting onlslaught will begin.

Congrats on the wally's

Didnt think of that but it is true. So will keep the catches more sensitive. I spent the week at Marshall Lake and the camp hosts were telling me that the DFW is thinking about killing off the lake because it has bass in it. I moved here this year and have heard so much about killing off lakes and gill netting. Isnt there something else that can be done other than mass killings that destroy a fishing local for years. I just another way should be found to deal unwanted fish. I also saw about 10 pike come up to surface, so I dont think their gill nets work anyway...

So what where you fishing for sounds like you had a walleye rig on! I have caught walleye by rocky point downriver from sandpoint biggest was 6.25lbs late fall on blade baits fishing for bass? Just wondering?
