Hit the river for the first time this year and it was nice to get into the moving water again. Had zero success today. No fish rolling or being caught by the 6 or so people out behind safeway. the one bit of excitement happened to the gentleman next to me. He had gotten hung up a couple of times and there was someones old line in the water that was giving him a fit. After the third cast in a row getting hung up he managed to grab a hold of the old line and he dicided to pull it out of the river to throw away. As he was coiling up this line it all of a sudden pulled back! He turns to me and says "there is a fish on this line!" So I husle over to grab his rod from him and he continues to pull this line in by hand and that is when it surfaced!. I didnt get a great look at it but i can say it was approx 15 lbs (my best guess). Then it finally broke loose. It was the weirdest thing i have seen in a while. too bad that guy lost it, but it gave me enough of a glimmer of hope to return as soon as i can.

Never had that happen on the rivers. But my dad. uncle and I have all had it happens when fishing up in sekiu wa out on the straight.. Its really a mest up feeling when you pull your line in and have another line wrapped around your own. Then to start to in the second line by hand and have it tugging back at you.
