Launched my drift boat at the big eddy for the first time on Friday. Made through that first corner no prob but the next set of rapids is tricky and I ended up getting Hung up and almost flipped her over! Now I have no problem admitting to the fact that I am a novice on the oars and any advice on making it through this section would be appreciated. But that's not the worst thing that happened,we got the boat unstuck and continued on our merry way and came to the next set of rapids, and well apparently while righting our ship on the last set my jig on my float rod came loose and was dragging behind the boat..... And yeah it snagged on something and flew out the back. A 10'6" lamiglass with shimano caenen reel donated to this river gods. We tried for an hour to snag it but Nada. We carried on and went 0 for 2 side drifting to sultan. If I could rate this day lower I would. But hey, that's fishing and now I have an excuse to buy a new setup.

Sorry to hear about the challenging day. The low water makes that section below the put-in a pain. I bumped a bit through there last week as well. On that section just around the bend I found that just left of center was my best line, then keep it straight and push forward to get through. This can certainly change with the water levels though. With so many of us floating that stretch, maybe one of us will spot or snag your lost gear in the low/clear water and get it back to you. Best of luck on your next run down. Scott
