well, got on the river first thing. not too crowded. Ive had days of hundreds of casts and not a strike, but this day would be different. I tied my shrimp, took a look at the seams, tossed out and two bouces on bottom and WHAM.....I set the hook and this buck was off and runnin. the cartwheel up and out was thrilling. thoughts in my head racing...."let him run, keep line tight, but dont horse him"....with a nice whine of my drag he took another run....he headed in toward the bank and thanks to the patience of my fellow bankers i was able to coax him to the bank. Alas! a nice 8 punder on the sand. while I was already satisfied with my morning and the grin on my face showed it, i logged him on to my catch record and got prepped for more. Knowing the odds of another catch might be slim, I casted out again into the seam i read before....about 10 casts more and WHAM, again, the same thoughts go through my mind. This one felt strong. really pullin hard and cutting into the cureent a little downstream. the line slacked and for a fleeting moment i thought i had lost him, but then he took off downstream. after a vigorous run he tried out and came in for a nice landing. A nice bright 10 pounder. I couldnt believe it. 45 min and had my limit. I was giddy all the way home.
