I booked an 8 hour fishing trip with guide and instructor Nate Treat. We started at the mouth of the Wallace, and got a good take down, but 0 for 1 - poor hook set. Nate says it is all about the set! Next went to Big Eddy access and hiked around the bend - pulled a beautiful 24 inch Dolly out off of a gold spoon called an Acme Phoebe. We then went to Reiter Ponds and did floats for about an hour. Saw 5 nice fish hauled out while we were there.

Now for a totally unsolicited shameful plug for Nate. He is not just a bank guide, but an instructor. He guided me in 3 or 4 spots and explained 4 or 5 different setups made for different types of river. He was very patient and gave me a ton more confidence that I can have success on the river from now on. If you want practical instruction you can use to pay dividends on the river, see Nate. Worth every penny.

Wow thats a huge Dolly! Gorgeous, Id be tempted to have that mounted. 63startcraft, you can keep dollys on the Sky if they are over 20"

I've C&R-ed 3 or 4 Dollies so far this season around that size. Seems to be more in the system than years past.

That picture turned out great! Yea, there have been a lot of dollies this year, we have been averaging one or two a day. They are neat fish!
