Got to the Sky just before 6 AM and started float fishing. Around 5 fishermen with me on the highway side of Reiter and maybe 20 - 25 on the hatchery side. Switched over to driftfishing after no action on the jigs. That didn't work either so back to jigs for another round of frustration. Tried in close and out farther but nada. Did see one fish roll with a very significant tail(maybe a big one) but he wanted nothing to do with my presentations. The river was up but the clarity was sufficient(3 to 4 feet) but there was nothing going on. Saw one hooked and lost on the hatchery side and one carried out over there but that was it!! Only good thing that happened was a fellow fisherman gave me a float when I lost mine and discovered I didn't have a spare in my vest. Dohhh!! Nice to meet friendly and helpful folks on a stretch of the river that most people characterize as a combat zone. Wet day but you have to put the time in to keep your chances up. Tight lines to all.
