Spent the afternoon on the Skookumchuck, learning how to drift fish with yarn balls. The water was low, and the fish were not as cooperative as they have been in the past, but when the rain started the bite picked up a little.
We were getting some strikes on yarn balls and sand shrimp scent, and we got another fish on a bass plug. Lots of darker fish, it's a 9:1 ratio dark to light, but a great oppurtunity to observe steelhead behavior first hand, catch a lot of fish and practice those techniques that you'll use come salmon season.
