FINALLY!!!!

Caught my first steelhead! Its only taken me a few years to do it! My bf and I took a spur of the moment fishing trip down to the skookumchuck today. The river looked great, and it reminded me of the skokomish which is one of my favorite rivers to fish. When we arrived at the river I was suprised to see only a few people fishing. We walked down the river from the hatchery a little ways. We had been fishing for about a half hour or so when a guy walked by me asking if I had any luck, I told him nah, and right as I said no I hooked a fish! After a fun fight the nice guy netted it for me! A wonderful first steelie! Caught him on a little pink corkie! I didnt see too many fish caught, but I saw a lot of fish roll, so they are there! I cant wait to go back!

The Skookumchuck river is by the town Tenino. The hatchery is just below the dam of the skookumchuck reservoir. The river has great access!
