Well, I have to say that persistance pays off. Ever since water levels rose a few weeks ago on the ESl, it seems that a ton of fish have taken advantage of the high water to shoot upstream, leaving a few stragglers for anglers to pick off. Now that water levels have dropped again, you still have to search for your fish, but the good news is that the fish are willing to bite. I was fishing a stretch of water below Daybreak park and found some willing biters despiter the cold weather. I downsized my terminal gear to adjust for the lower water conditions with a smaller presentation and it paid off with a 10lb hatchery steelhead and another GIANT wild buck that I estimate to have been around 16-18lbs. What a day on the river!

Massive steelie! Great job...any fish that you cant get your whole hand around the tail is worth all the effort to get.

So brite, he shines, really nice fish! Friendly reminder, if you're in Washington State you gotta keep those nates in the water, there I said it.
