Spent Sunday and Monday fishing the Snoqualmie. Fished every spot with bank access from Tokul river down past Carnation. First day we went to a park in Carnation that has a foot bridge over the Snoqualmie river. Talked to fisherman leaving who said they never saw a fish. Out on the bridge I looked into the water and saw a nice steelhead that was overlooked. As I was watching it a boat came down pulling a couple kwikfish. I watched that nice steelhead swim from his spot to go bite their lure. Took the guys in the boat a bit of time to realize they had a fish on. It was really neat to watch the whole thing. The kwikfish it bit was neon green and silver. Spent the rest of the day fishing with no bites. Talked to some locals and fisherman that said theyd never seen the river so low and clear. Talked to numerous bank fisherman, no one catching anything, it seemed like only the boaters were catching. Camped on the river at a park. Fished through the night too. No night closure. Caught a nice whitefish that night, but nothing else. Was back at the hatchery at dawn and fished til about 10am. No one was catching anything. I did catch a small clipped rainbow. Figured the guy never made it to the ocean, probably about 14in, threw him back anyways. Fished drifting eggs, eggs and bobber, bobber and jig, plunking, pink worms, and spoons. I figure you just have to find where theyre hiding and they'll bite.
