I had to take a trip to Minter to check out the circus. Got down there and watched from the bridge for a bit, quite a few guys fishing, I meant to take a picture of all the people fishing. Me and my bf brought a few fishing poles along just incase it wasnt as busy as we assumed. After watching for a bit it seemed safe to fish. I have noticed, with my experience river fishing, that there are good days and there are bad days. Somedays you make it to the river and every guy fishing has a chip on his shoulder, is super sketchy, or is down right angry. And somedays you get to the river and for some reason that day attracted the nicest fisherman who had come out to enjoy a good day of fishing. Today at Minter was one of the good days. Despite the 30+ fisherman not one guy was mad, not one guy kept a snagged fish, and everyone was nice as could be. Its always nice to enjoy conversations while fishing. And it is always nice to not worry about the fella fishing next to you. Only fished for about 2 hours, but in those two hours We had to have hooked at least 20 or more fish. We kept only the brightest, and there were quite a few to be caught. Started out with a purple and black jig but the fish were really spooked by the fisherman lining the banks so I switched to a small pink corky on about 16 inches of leader. Once it started to get dark and most of the people left I switched back to the jig. Almost every cast fish on with that dang jig. The creek is a good place on the right day.
