Took my 3 yr old son, along with my brother-in-law, on his first steelhead fishing trip down on Clearwater River. We were there for two days and the first day was nice and sunny but extremely windy, which made casting and mending line very challenging. However, my son proved to be my good luck charm as I caught my two fish limit in two hrs! My son and I then spent the rest of the day playing and coaching my brother-in-law for his first steelhead. He did eventually hook one after a few hours but it got off when it took a strong run on his tight drag. Fishing the second day was tough with only one fish hooked yet none ended up in the net. Overall, fishing on the Clearwater River is still slow due to the low and clear water conditions.
