Took a good friend down to the Clearwater River for a chance to catch a B-run steelhead. However, with low and clear water conditons we found the fishing to be tough. I did catch one keeper and hooked another wild one for my friend to reel in and he did a great job fighting it all the way into the net. I also had two other fish on for a short time but somehow they got off......I guess that's how it goes steelheading some days! Overall, a slow day and didn't see many fish hooked and caught. Best part of the trip was running into an old timer as I was leaving that I haven't seen in about 9 years and chatting with him for a few minutes. Fishing should get better as the river gets more moisture.

kevinfishon: We bank fish off highway 12 near Orofino, which is about 40 miles east of Lewiston. There is a lot of good access for bank fisherman all along the river from Lewiston to Orofino.

Ah the pole yard hole. I miss fishing there. I have seen you guys there before. I used to live in Moscow and I fished down there once a week. I am now staying in Spokane. If there is anyway I could hitch a ride with you on your next trip I would give you all the fish I caught.Send me an email or give me a call 208-874-7799 or kdeife@live.com
