It is actually illegal to remove any fish from the water that you intend to release. seems dumb, huh? but really, i dont mind a nice photo. the problem is, that your hand is in the gills. next time, avoid that at all costs so i can give you a pat on the back for being a good fish handler!
I appreciate that your making the effort and having some sucess, but lets keep the health and impact on these fish as low as possible. a mesh or rubber net will be your best friend.
