Fished the Wallace today starting at about 3:00 until dark. I was floating eggs most of the time and I gave these little drift rigs my buddy and I came up with a shot for a while and they exceeded my expectations. with I had a mixed bag of species today. I caught a bunch of firetruck coho, one bright one. mixed in with the coho were a few chums and even a 7-8lb king. I had never caught a king this late in the season let alone one that was still in decent shape.

All fish were released unharmed to fight another day!

counting down the days until the steelhead get here...

Nice report. Interested in your drift rig you made up. How did the king look there catching them out in the sound and might be moving up the system.

drift rigs are a secret! haha no, they are just the drift fishing equivalent of an egg-sucking leech. you tie a normal bait-loop knot but you snell in a little chunk of rabbit fur. add a little purple yarn and a small orange corkie and you're in business. The king was by no means a chromer but it wasnt in bad shape, still put up a hell of a fight.

Sounds like a sweet day! Could you possibly post a photo of the jig-rig you are tying up/describing? I'm looking to change up my styles. Thanks!
