I learned some new jigging techniques while fishing with a guide on the Humptulips last week. He targeted back eddys and frog water which I typically do not fish with jigs. I knew some places on the Sky like that so I decided to hit it this morning upriver from Monroe. I spent the first hour or so throwing jigs around structure in slow water and hooked a fish but lost it because I didn't hit it quick enough. A couple more hits but since you have to fish these on the bottom I lost several setups and decided to switch to a wee dick nite in 50/50. I fished the moving water and hooked and landed a fish about 10 casts in. Nice hen with a rosy/chrome complexion. Fished a couple more hours and called it a day. Saw a couple caught from boats and a huge one caught from shore that was foul hooked. Chrome bright and 15 plus.....wow! Back in the water she went. Beautiful day with sun and eagles for company.
