We fished the Wallace from sunup to around 1:00 pm. There were lots of dark fish rolling, and right off I hooked a few firetrucks.
Played them out. And then the bite died. There were a lot more people on the river than was warranted for the amount of nice fish. There was a bunch of us floating eggs through a big hole and the fish just moved out of the way for the most part. I like to drift fish or throw Dick Nites which made it hard for us so we left.
We ended up on one hidden away hole that we had to ourself and managed to get a nice hen and play with some more fish before we had to leave. But all in all, not the greatest day, fighting the crowds isn't worth it. Bring on the Steelhead I say.
