Took the time to do some evening fishing here. The lake has been planted from net pens provided and raised by Fort Lewis. Half or more of this lakeshore is military. We should thank those who serve our country and a big thanks to Ft. Lewis for sharing the fish. This years release are (small) in size but they are in there. 60,000. No problem catching them trolling near the boat launch on the Tillicum side. Fish barbless because these fish are fun to catch but need some time to meat up. There was a steady west wind but no chop. Maybe that wind kept the feed and fish close to this boat launch side. Eagles, ophsprey and a few herron flew by as my competition. Few fishermen and only one skier were using the lake. When ski boats and pwcs do take over the lake head for the south end and the no wake zone and military swimming beaches. The fishing can be very good back there. For those who know how the kokanee should start to bite soon here. Fish deep and mornings for them. Good luck to all. DH
