Fished in Tukwila upstream from the 112 bridge. Boy, is that river bank trashed! Not many fish jumping and even fewer biting unfortunately. Has there been some netting going on downstream? I am new to town so I am not exactly privy to what's going on. Threw everything I had, jigs, buzzbomb, even corkies and yarn. Not a bite but a beautiful cool and cloudy day. I love the Green River. The wife and I remove 4 garbage bags of trash and recyclables from the bank. At least we can feel good about that.

Sorry about your voluntary clean up. We can all relate. I also try to do what I can. I wish there were a way to get through to those litter bugs.

I'm not sure where in Kent to go. I live in Auburn and the green runs through my backyard. Thankfully my section opens in two days! I've been waiting to fish next to my apt since we moved in a month ago. In the meantime I have watched plenty of poachers and cleaned up their trash too HA HA.
I can almost understand littering in a city because it's easy to rationalize that someone else is probably paid to clean it up. That's still BS but, I can sort of see THAT. What I can't understand is, what is (or in this case, isn't) going through these peoples' heads who trash such awesome beauty. It's a privilege to be able to fish these places and it blows my mind that so many of us take that for granted. The audacity one must have to come to the river, take out a bunch of fish (probably completely ignorant about the regs) and then walk out leaving a mound of garbage is amazing to me. I'm not talking about a couple feet of line and a few cigarette butts either. I'm talking cans, bottles, used rubber gloves, food wrappers/containers, yards and yards of line, etc, the kind of stuff that you had to have actually looked at on your way out and made a decision to take with or leave behind. Well, fine, looks like I found my cause, haha. I'll get off my soapbox now and go pick up some more trash since I can't catch any fish, :)

Dang it, I was hoping to fish the green tonight. Stupid garbage letters and netters. Does "nets are in" mean that there are literally people netting the fish?

Thanks for the clean up. The fish gods will reward you. I am doing the same tomorrow at my standard fishing spot. I cleaned it 2 weeks ago and its already filled with trash again.

I moved here because it is a beautiful place. I intend to do my part to help keep it that way. :) With the section of the Green that I live opening tomorrow I sure could use the fish gods' help. I am so excited. I don't care if the salmon are dark or not, I just want to get on the fish again. Seeing them from my window jumping around is driving me crazy...the wife and cat too.
