Went to the Reformatory Hole EARLY this morning. Already pretty crowded by the time I was there. Slipped down to the bank near a tree and shared a big spot with two fellows. Boy did they know what they were doing. They were plunking right on the seam of the slow and fast part of the river, with a 4 oz weight and a spin n glow with LIVE sand shrimp. They caught about a fish every 5 to 10 min, probably 12 total. Kept 4 a piece. I had never tried really plunking, because I never had that much weight. I had hokey gear but tried it a bit, and only caught one (released Mr. Ugly Hump) and a few more hooked off. I realized really getting the gear DOWN to the bottom, and working the seam, makes a huge difference.
Some other dudes were also doing ok plunking and drifting corkies, spin n glows and sand shrimp. Had to head out early, but had fun watching the two guys slay that pink!
