Went to the duwamish for the hours before and after low tide. There were pinks in there, but they stopped biting when the tide stopped. It wasn't on fire, but it wasn't dead either. I hooked a king, but when I saw it was a king I just let my line slack, pointed the rod at the fish and let him run away.

Dude next to me hooked the BIGGEST king I've seen come from the duwamish. It was BEAUTIFUL. It was from the ground to up to my chest, I'm guessing 35 to 40 pounds. It was a behemouth. And this guy grabs it by the gill plate, yanks it outta the water to get a picture with it. I tell him you can't keep that you know, and he's like I wasn't going to it's all spawned out anyways. You're not supposed to take that out of the water either, I tell him. He throws it back in like you would a trout. Sheesh. The fish rolled over and started to float downstream toward the seal.

I waded out and grabbed it by the tail and spent a good ten minutes reviving it. Protecting it from the seal and the snaggers that were downstream of us. I sent it upstream. I sure hope that it spawns a WHOLE bunch. It was a gorgeous fish. I've only caught one fish bigger than that.

Anyways, when the low tide went away, I went upstream and played with the pinks some more. Ended it up getting 3 hens that were pretty good, and releasing quite a few bucks. Good times.

Nice job. Wish I could get out tomorrow AM before the nets go in but gotta work tomorrow afternoon and the car's catalytic converter driver's side went capoot yesterday (so carpooling to work). We sure could use more of the big ones in all the Puget Sound rivers! Thanx for getting one back to swimming.

THANK YOU for jumpin that guys B*tt ! I've seen alot of things like that happening lately....... I've actually followed some of these people to get the license plate # ........people are using triple barbed hooks, and/or snagging fish , and hiding them either in the bushes, or running them to the vehicles. (Kings-Silvers-Pinks) I am heading out today just to pick up trash that I see laying around, since I busted my favorite rod by tripping up on a nest of fishing line yesterday........
