Went toward the end of Levee rd. from 1-5:30pm and hooked several. Let 2 fouled hooked ones go. Brought 3 home, 2 hens and 1 male. The male did not have a hump. The females had very different sized eggs. Used combo of pink and orange and threw some 2009 eggs on.The bites came in waves, off, on, and then off. It was interesting. I found that using a lighter weight and not casting 3/4 the way across the river got me the most bites and fish. They were right in front of me. The area I was in is affected by the tide which was Low 1:54 PM 2.9 High 7:56 PM 12.5.
5:00 brought a huge amount of jumpers in the river and the current became almost bobber water.
At 5:30 my spot was under water so I came home.
I forgot to take pictures before filleting.

wtg toni! I had a monster day down there today myself. I love pink season only cause I can finally stay home and not drive so far to get fish. Hope to run into you sometime either on the puke or the carbon. Have a good one.

Nice job, Toni! Is it still shoulder to shoulder there?

@fliningpooh I agree. @islandbass No. Where I was there is bank access only and so my nearest neighbor was, 20 or more feet away, and for a short time 10 foot away. There is not enough room for more than one or two. So you have to find an empty spot and like I said it disappeared when the tide was coming in.

Thanks, Toni. You have been a great fish catchin' machine this season. It has been a joy reading your reports.

Alright Toni :) About the only trime I can recall being on that river with fish moving thru was when I originally went out there with nate just after the opener. Those buggers are pretty good at finding the junk (downed tree limbs) along the bank after hooking them. Good job getting 3 in, it can be hit and miss just as you describe (coming in waves and dying off). Thanx for the report and pics.
