I met my brother and Pink pole at the Puyallup at the Sumner treatment plant at 5:45am as well as my neighbor’s son who wanted some pointers on river fishing. We went 0-0 for all of us. There were a few fish taken down river but none were hooked close to us. Now there were fish where we were, I saw them, but there were also snags. I got my limit of snags! At least I got my river gear together. Water visibility was about 3 inches. It was going to be a 80 degree day of sun and I was the last to leave of my group at close to 10am.
Since I lost a lot of gear I changed up on colors and I used eggs also. I also tried to drift the gear within 4 feet of the bank.

I was in the exact same area this morning. Saw one caught here and there, but nothing spectacular. I didnt bring any fish home either, I saw people leave without any fish.

Toni I think the bite is better in the lower river right now the fish are fresh in and have not swam through the gauntlet of lines and people in the river but it is more crowded there, it is more peacefull upriver. Good luck to you.
