Came home from college for a couple days to this awesome weather. Fished the sound on Saturday morning and caught nothing. It was an amazing sunrise for any of you who saw it. Boated the rest of the day on Sammamish then left with my dad that evening for Forks.
On Sunday we went 11 for 18. 4 summer runs, 3 silvers, 2 sockeye, and one jack king. Fantastic day on the river. Fish throughout the whole river and caught them on everything. Eggs, spinners, jigs, sand shrimp, and spoons. We had the best day on the river and came home with 60 pounds of meat. We lost 2 steelhead at the boat and 5 sockeye twitchin'. Beats spending 5000 in Alaska any day.
Highlight of the day was sight fishing for steelhead. Spotted one in a tailout and pitched a jig in front of its face and the fight was on. Never seen that done before. Caught 3 silvers in 4 casts at one point. Biggest steelhead went 12 pounds, biggest silver went 9, sockeye were both 7.
AMAZING day and great memories with my dad.
