Went down to the cowlitz last couple days. Fishing has been really really slow. Only seen a few fish brought out. Had a couple on but only dragged 1 in. Water level is up and down. Right now it is up. Its real hit and miss though. Steel head I caught was 27" and about 8 lbs.

general weight calculation for steelhead is one pound for every inch in length over 20. I think stosh is pretty close. Thats why a scale is handy if you really want to know! haha.

Aah, it's a hatchery brat, why we gotta bicker size with him? It's different when they're monsters. They still fry up nice though! Those fish always come out a bit bigger than I would think they would have been when I get 'em home and weigh them, even gutted. I'm used to looking at salmon, which makes steelhead look small when I see 'em.

ya. He was border line 28 inches but I took off an inch or so cause I just layed him on a 24" cooler and saw he was about a hand or a little less past the end of the cooler. Bite is off and on still. When the water is down hit the river for anyone who reads this. Up stay away.
