Headed to the Walla Walla River for the first time after work since it's right there and started fishing around 5:00 PM. When I first got there I talked to a group that said the last few days were slow and the wind had been a pain. When we were talking they had a bite and ended up catching a catfish, I think it was their 8th or 9th they had caught in the last 2-3 days. I started fishing and like they said, the wind was a pain with it blowing pretty good the whole time I was there, it was kind of hard to see if I was getting any little nibbles or not from smaller fish since I was using worms. I didn't end up getting any catfish but caught a small smallmouth bass. It looks like a good area to fish if I put time into it so I'll probably be back next week to try it out with a different bait like shrimp or chicken liver so the smaller fish don't steal my bait.

What part of the river? My grandson did okay Tuesday. 12 catfish in 6 or 7 hours on worms.

I was at the campground area where they have the tiny launch for boats. I was going to try off the dock area that used to be the old road bridge but decided to just fish that area instead.
