Went to Newman on opening day (even though open all yr), caught two small bass both 13 inches and a little over a pound. Both caught in the Northeast corner in the lily pads. Water temp right around 58 degrees, and both fish caught right after 9am. One caught on spinnerbait, and the other on a buzzbait. Saw many large bass leaping out of the water from about 7am-11am, couldn't get any to bite! Had a good time, and it seems like Newman has many good size bass. Quite a few boats on the lake but not to many to fish comfortably. Will definately go again as the temp rises!
