So it wasnt the best of fishing, but im not giving up because I know the pike are there but im limited of where I can fish until I get the bass boat tuned up and cherried! Ok guys im gonna need a little help we have hit POR twice this year and we have gone to ashton bay both times, we figure since I only have a 14 ft flat bottom and trolling motor ( till i get the bass boat out) we are limited to slow moving water, which is why we pick this bay! Well after today im not goin back there so im hoping for a little help of where we might be able to fish without getting sucked down the river and not being able to come back lol! Idk if its what were using for tackle or what but we had a few follows and one small pike in the boat out of ashton bay, I usually fish Muskie so I have a huge collection of Big baits, and thats what were using to try and catch big pike, I have everything from bulldogs, suicks, cowgirls, bucktails, divers, surface and subsurface lures and not to mention every type of rapala known to man haha, should we be Finnesse fishing for these pike using small baits im just confused cuz my friend is from Minnesota and the fishing is entirely different from around here so were confused lol, any help would be greatly appreciated, I know its gonna help getting the bass boat on the water so were not stuck in one bay all day and get a chance to get up in some slews!!! Well happy Fishing everyone

When the fishing gets tough and you can't get them to commit, finesse fish them a little bit. I always have some certain bass lures on to hit them when they wont take larger lures. You'll be amazed at the soft plastics they'll take when they won't hit anything else.

We use alot of spoons,6" swimbaits and j-11 rapalas, and 1 oz spinnerbaits. You dont need big baits for Muskie or Pike on this side of the state. We do excellent on smaller baits all the time not to say bigg baits dont work...
