One of the most awesome things about this website is that a guy can hook up and fish with other fishermen. Today I got the chance to fish with none other than Medic 1 and JBball50 on a section of the Yakima River just south of West Richland. After meeting up with the guys at a local gas station we headed down to the launch where the three of us floated the river in Medic's 18 foot jet sled. Both guys tried a number of crankbaits like Worden's Timber Tiger in crawfish while I stuck to my 3" Kalin's grubs in Smoke and Pumkin pepper. The first half dozen fish we caught lacked any size but still it was a good time. I broke the ice telling them my "Save the Minnow " story and the "I aint usin' Worms! " story and both them looked at me as if I was a few eggs short of a full carton! This trip was very special indeed because Medic's being deployed to Iraq shortly and It was an honor for me to be on the water with him because I am prior service myself. JB went a bit without a fish for a while(13 TOTAL)but near the end he hooked up with the biggest fish of the trip on a Rapala only to have it scream drag and shake loose! These guys epitomize and define the kind of old school fisherman that makes what we do such a great sport! Thanks again for the invite brother. The Jigmiester

Yeah two of my biggest fish spit the hook when they jumped ahhh oh well. Haha I thought the worms story was pretty funny, only in the south! I'm going to try and buy some plastic minnows and possibly head up to Moses Lake this weekend to try for some crappie and see how I do. Stay safe Medic over in Iraq, it was a pleasure fishing with you two!
