Hey-
Went out with brother in law this morning on the Spokane river. Great time. Tried three different locations around the treatment plant, bowl and pitcher, and seven mile bridge. Made sure we were really up on our regs, as we know some guys and the state are really particular about what, when and how you fish. We mostly caght pike minnow, as they seem to own the river and long lake, but I got into one of the elusive redbanders that I just love so much. Little 14"er. C and R'd after photo. Caught him on a 3" powerbait minnow. (black back, white belly)
Would've killed and ate him, as I'm in the practice of doing, but have heard about the heightened minerals in the water, and of course, the regs are clear about this kind of thing.
Didn't even see the usual trash content on the shores. Somebody's been listening to their mother and picking up after themselves. Good job children.

fishin-goat, not true in the area he is fishing. I am pretty sure that unless the regs have changed (need to read them before fishing any spot), that location is not selective gear rules. However, the upper river, from the Idaho State line to Upriver Dam, is selective gear rules.
