After stopping at the toutle on the way home my dad and i decided to stop by at the barier to see what was goin on there and to our surprise there were chromers stacked in all through out there so we dawned the wadders and started throwing black and pink jigs on bobbers. on my second cast my bobber flew under and it was fish on......atleast for about three minutes then it was fish off.kept fishing for about two more hours drifting prawns and still nothing. the guy next to use was drifting corkies in close though and caught a hawg in the 12 pound range that was chrome as can be and still had sealice.then me and my dad just ended up discouraged hungry and my dad even got his ankle sliced up real good from a hook with line on it under the water so we decided to leave and get something to eat. btw i have to say kelly's country kafe in ethel is awesome and really cheap for a meal so if you every have the chance its a must. the only good thing about this trip was that my dad and i finally found the illusive 264 winchester magnum in a place outside of kelso but that quickly turned bad too since he got randomly delayed on his purchace and we live all the way out in spanaway so we'll be back next weekend trying our luck again hopefully my report will be rated a 5 next time.

Thanks for the report. Were you guys fishing up near the spillway/deadline? Did you see any Kings being caught? I haven't fished here in a long time due to the fishing has been so awful.

I must have missed the bite or something. I was there the other day to check things out- water was really high. I seen 4 guys drifting and no one caught anything. I don't fish this river much anymore. I never do good here. How was your set up?

i had a pink and orange jig on about a four foot leader and after i waded out i was only fishing about 20-30ft in front of me as was everyone else who was catching anything. the lady at the camp ground said the river wasnt as hot as it normally is but in the two hours i was there i hooked one steelie and saw three kings and four steelhead pulled in. all steelies were about 6lbs except the 12lb one that was caught right next to me. i was also told that pink and white are producing in the morning and mid day and black or orange is better towards night I.E a nightmare colored jig was doin relatively decent.
