Hit up reiter again this evening water was up a bit from Tuesday which was nice, but there were no fish caught while I was there on either side of the river. I hooked one but had to break it off because the drag on my reel wouldnt work so I grabbed the line with my hand and let it break off. Oh well that one will live to see another day. The eagle wasnt there today and neither were the fish. But it seemed every novice and there dog and sister were there. Pretty much a comedy show.

I know the feeling I was there that afternoon I snagged my line and had to set up my leader and someguy jumps in my spot. Reiter has the most disrepectful people I have ever fished with. I don't understand how people can fish on top of somebody and think thats ok. People walking down river to catch a fish someone steps up in there spot thats true comedy.

I've pretty much just learned to deal with it at reiter and laugh sometimes. Its happened to me more times than I can count and Im sure Ive elbowed in closer than some might like but thats reiter. When I dont feel like dealing with the crowds I go elsewhere. Yesterday there were people sitting in lawn chairs in the river on tuesday a guy and his girlfriend standing halfway out to the big rock fishing with a barbie pole. Again I just have to laugh. I fished the highway side today and not a single fish caught. On the hatchery side though saw a few caught and heard one guy say "that the third double today".

Its really combat fishing there I would have to agree. I know talking to old timers/locals that fish the hole on the reiter side take truns as a respect thing. Its been a few years since I have fished there but when I didnt you got in a line for a rock made a few cast if you hooked up you would play down river and let others jump in to fish the hole. If no hook ups in a few cast you would step back and let someone elss have a turn. If you didnt people would get Upset and start to shout out at you. It was fun though. Tight Lines

I'm a regular at Reiter and have made friends with alot of the locals and we all have a mutual respect for one another i'm a friendly guy always have a smile on my face they don't crowd me or try to jocky me for my spot and I don't do that to them . If its totally packed I understand but when the River is wide open you catch a fish or you stop to assist your fishing buddy in bringing his in and someone jumps up in your spot because you caught a fish is not cool at all. I used to just let it happen but it was happening so often I started telling people you taking over my spot and they would say something like ooo you were fishing here and move . The funny thing is I would be fishing there for hours and the guy would always be to the right of me in plain view. Were you fishing here ? To funny !!!!

I will agree that stepping in on someones spot or even crowding in on them after they catch a fish is BS. First of all I think its stupid. Its not like that will be the only spot fish will be caught from. Second of all that is rude. I'm a polite guy if I'm stepping in between another person I'll ask if its ok, I wait to cast to avoiding snagging up with other people which is more than I can say about a lot of people who go there. But like I said before its reiter and it at times is even worse in the winter. I fish there often but I'm patient with the BS and actually view it as entertainment sometimes. If I let a couple of guys on the river ruin my day of fishing than why bother going. If I don't want the crowd and deal with people like that I don't go to reiter. You think reiter is bad try the cowlitz.
