My 2 daughters were out on spring break, so we headed over to the Quincy Lakes area to camp for 5 days. Weather was decent all week, but cold at night. Dropped to the mid 20's tuesday night and the orchards were busy keeping the fruit trees from freezing. Fishing was decent for skinny 8-11 inch trout in Burke. There is a serious problem with perch infestation, so the fish growth is limited. We caught fish from our shoreline campsite each day using marshmallow and worm, but didn't put in a serious effort. I spoke with several that fished Quincy Lake and the action was about the same there. Limits if you wanted to put in the time. Ticks were by far the worse I've ever seen and I picked off 14 from our dog Lucy, 3 in our tent and 2 in the car. Many horse people were moving in all week and all the large campsites were filled with horses. We left Friday morning and it sure stunk of horse poop and we were several hundred yards from the horse camps.
