Hit the river with my roommate Josh, hoping to get him his first steelhead in WA. We wading in near blue creek around 0430 and started glo ballin. Hooked and lost one a few casts and missed a few more. Then I nailed this nice little steelhead, released her back to live another day. Fished on through the morning and nothing, then, fish on! Wasn't much of a fight, actually thought I had just hooked a log or something when to my surpise, a sucker... really!? Steelhead fishing and I hook a damn sucker! Haha. Oh well, all in all a slow day, poor Josh went home empty handed. Didn't see too many fish landed anywhere around us. I'll be back! Tight lines all!

those suckers will fool you everytime. Especially when you poke them in the azz and they run for a min. before they tire. Nice steelie.

The strangest fish I ever caught in the Cowlitz River was a Lamprey Eel. They are now protected, but its always fun to catch something unexpected.
