Got to the lake about 1100 AM. Trolled worms and had a nice slam but came up empty. Wind was picking up so I anchored up on north side. Had a few bites with Corn Yellow power bait and ended up with two fish in the boat. The first fish was a nice fish about 16 inches. The wind kept blowing and I was ready to go about 200 PM. I started reeling in my bait and I thought I felt a fish. I gave it a nice jerk and felt nothing. I then realized he had the bait and was swimming right for the boat. As soon as he got close he flashed me and started to spool me!!. I set the hook and the fight was on!!!. I reached down and tightened my Shimano Spirex almost all the way. I didn't seem to be working? Then I tightened the fighting drag. Finally I was starting to slow him down. I reeled him in 3 more times and he took off again and again. Finally with the net close to the water I pulled him up again and he slipped right into it. WOW!!!...I lifted him into the boat and I could not believe it. No camera in the boat either. He weighed 5 lbs 6 oz...A day I will never forget!!
