This was my first time at Reiters. We got to the river about 9:00. I went with my buddy/mentor Steve who is a certifiable fisherman. We heard there were 3 good size fish caught earlier. It wasn’t too crowded, about 75 feet between fishermen below the stream.

We headed upriver about 50yards. On his third cast, Steve hooked into this beautiful native. (He has this annoying habit of always catching a lot of fish in a short period of time ;)) It came completely out of the water once and ran downstream three times and finished with an upstream run. In the excitement we messed up and took it out of the water for the picture. It should be ok since it took off like Gilligan with his pants on fire when he let it go.

There was one other steelhead caught before we left at 1:30.

What is a certifiable fisherman? That's a new one on me. We all have a license.

Pretty fish, really a bummer that he has his finger under the fishes gill plate though. No blood is not an indication of no damage. It is a beautiful fish though.

Sagerat- as in certifiably crazy.

I'll take the blame for taking the fish out. I had the camera and was a little over enthusiastic.

Hey Splitshot, I would probably do the same. I think the fish would want it that way. He's a celebrity and still runnin the river.
